Group calls appeared in TamTam web version

After launching group calls in TamTam mobile apps, we got a lot of requests for this feature from our desktop users. So today we’re launching group calls in the TamTam web version.

As with mobile versions, you can call chats created earlier on TamTam web, or you can create a new chat specifically for the call. In the latest versions of the app for PC and Mac, as well as the web version of TamTam, audio and video call buttons now appear in chats.

During a group video call, you can change the view of participants. For small groups, use grid view. For calls with a large number of participants, a carousel view will work better. During the call, the active speaker will be highlighted.

If there are several cameras or microphones on the computer, you can switch between them in the settings during a call.

TamTam web version is available in any browser at https://tamtam.chat. For Windows, Linux and Mac, you can download the desktop application. For the web version, we created our own library named Endorphin, as a result TamTam works fast on slow Internet connections and uses less RAM.
